Snow...

Judging by this picture you can assume two things: 1) That my blog has gone from weekly, to monthly, to seasonal in a mere one year period and 2) that for the first time since I've been in Bulgaria, we have finally had a proper snow. I spent the weekend walking around town in the cold, slipping on ice, and enjoying the peace and tranquility of the empty Bratsigovo streets. If there is one thing Bulgarians hate more than the heat and a draft in the room, it is snow. Luckily, this allowed me to wander around town undisturbed for a large part of the weekend.

Early next week i will be heading back to the great little town of Boboshevo to spend Christmas with my host family. Christmas in Boboshevo means three days of being force fed great food by Raina, talking over a glass of homemade red wine with Stefan, visits to more relatives than I can possibly remember, and a few trips to the Boboshevo diskoteka.

For new years eve I will be meeting up with two good friends from Colorado, CieJay and Ashley Hanson, and spending a few days in the mountains in Borovets. In a concentrated effort to spend my entire monthly living allowance over a four day period we will be hitting the slopes and snowboarding.

Eric, Good to see an update on your blog. I am sure most others have given up on it by now as once a season is not enough to keep the interest of an intellegent person. Fortunately for you I am a "bear of little brain" and I check on you at least once a week to see if there is something new. Today is what I've been waiting for and I feel RENEWED! I guess it is a matter of love and keeping the faith. We will be off this Saturday for Chicago and can't wait to see your family. Andrew is hopefully going to make it and I look forward to seeing him. It has been years since I've seen either one of you. We will be in Chitown for the week and return the Saturday after Christmas. We have had snow all season starting at the beginning of December. It is beautiful and more like the old days. Perhaps this is going to be an Al Gore nightmare of a winter. Kim and Ashley are undefeated in conference gymnastics. They will have a great season. School is going well for both of them. Aunt Kristy is busy getting ready for vacation and Christmas, Emily will meet us at Nana and Papa's Sunday. We think and pray for you often. We miss you very much and will particularly miss you this coming Tuesday. Be safe in the mountains, keep warm. Freezing to death is not good. Remeber the Lord too. Make one of your current readings Luke chapter two. We love you. I enjoy so much any entry that you make. May the Lord Bless you and give you the merriest of Christmas times. Give hugs to your host family from all of us and give them our thanks and blessings. Love, Uncle Bruce

We had one snow here in DC as well. Dc'rs are almost as bad as Californians, a flake of snow and the city shuts down!

Five more pages of a paper to write.... then freedom for a few weeks!
