Autumn Has Arrived in Bratsigovo

The leaves are turning, the weather is getting chilly, and Stolichno will soon be widely available throughout Bulgaria. Yes, fall has arrived and life is good here in Bratsigovo. The mayoral elections will conclude this weekend and it looks as if we will have a new mayor. Although this should not have much of an effect on me, there is a chance of some heavy turnover among my colleagues which could make things interesting around here.

With Thanksgiving coming up we have decided to spend a few days in Bucharest, stopping in Iskar along the way. This will ideally involve the slaughtering of another animal and thus another poorly-rated and criticized YouTube video. Although the exact details are still unclear, there has been talk about pitchforks and an ostrich.

I personally think that you should stage a coup in Bratsigovo to become the new mayor. You could use your communist boy scout minions to make a frontal assault, and your Roma friends could flank the back of the town hall. I mean, come on, clearly you have been planning it for awhile. Bulgarians playing baseball?

Eric, Don't listen to your brother. I am glad to see that you are staying more up to date on your blog. For us Thanksgiving will be with our friends the Roberts. Julie, the mom, is a "scratch cook." Nothing could be better. Kim and Ashley start gymnastics this coming Monday. We are excited for them. I saw Emily last weekend as I had to go to Chicago to see my Aunt Shirley. Em is doing well. Keep safe. Stay out of politics and just help those folks where ever and when ever you can. We think and pray for you regularly. Be safe. Love, Uncle Bruce

One a month! Is this all we can expect from you? You must be really important! So busy that you simply don't have the time to get to posting new entries and keeping your friends and FAMILY updated as to what is going on in your life...not that they or we care much...Thanksgiving was wonderful and "Happy" in Minnesota. Do they have similar celebrations in Bulgaria? Did you do anything for Thanksgiving as a remeberence of home? Are there turkeys in Bratsigovo? If so, did you get to "CHOP OFF A HEAD"...thinking here of the slaughtered pig I saw on your photo album once. Emily was home for the holiday and that was the greatest of blessings. We had good friends, the best of friends, over to the house. We missed other relatives though...you included, you especially. We keep you in our thoughts and prayers.
